When to check in

Talk to your provider if your baby loses skills they had, isn’t reacting to people or sounds, or anything worries you — at any age. Early support helps.

General information only, not medical advice or a developmental screening. Babies develop at different rates — discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider.

How it works

Milestones are typical ages by which most babies reach a skill — not a test or a deadline. Babies develop at their own pace and in their own order, often racing ahead in one area while taking their time in another. Use this as a gentle guide, not a scorecard.

Tap an age band to expand it and tick the skills you’ve seen. The checklist remembers your progress, so you can come back as your baby grows. If your baby was born early, remember many families track against corrected age in the first couple of years.

Frequently asked questions

What if my baby hasn’t hit a milestone yet? +

A single “not yet” usually isn’t a worry — ranges are wide and babies vary a lot. Patterns matter more than any one item. If you have concerns, or your baby loses a skill they had, talk to your provider.

Should I use corrected age for a premature baby? +

Many professionals track milestones against corrected age (counted from the due date) for roughly the first two years for babies born early. Our baby age calculator can work out corrected age for you.

When should I raise milestones with my doctor? +

Bring up anything that worries you at routine checkups, or sooner if your baby loses skills, isn’t responding to people or sounds, or you simply feel something’s off. Acting early is always reasonable.

Is this a developmental screening? +

No. It’s a general awareness tool, not a diagnostic screen. Formal screening is done by your healthcare provider, who can refer you for support if needed.
